The landowners as partners

Horizon Field Vorarlberg covers 8 municipalities, the districts of Bregenz and Bludenz and 4 valleys. The 100 sites are located on the land of 34 contracting parties and over 200 landowners. The choice of location is a central component of the artwork.

The installation sites, which have to meet many requirements, were worked out and determined in a complex process by the artist, our association board member Marcell Strolz, the surveyor Ewald Schneider (vkw) and the landowners. Among other things, the common contour line, the creation of visual axes, the subsoil, natural hazards and — in the vicinity of slopes — the risk of collision had to be taken into account.

The landowners are extremely important partners in our project. By providing the installation site, you are making a key contribution to the realization of this art project, which is so important for the region. The rights and obligations of project operators and landowners are set out in carefully drafted long-term agreements. Among other things, usage, maintenance and liability regulations are agreed. The association was and is interested in reconciling the concerns of the landowners with the requirements of the artwork in the best possible way.

Discussions with the landowners are still ongoing and the concerns of the contracting parties are being addressed step by step. We would like to thank the landowners for their trusting cooperation and the great understanding they have shown us as partners in this unique art project.
